The academic forum - “Technology empowering economy, common development of colleges and the local” - was held in Xinzheng City

In order to firmly establish the new development concept, deeply implement the innovation-driven development strategy, deepen the mutual assistance between colleges and the local, deepen the interaction between colleges and enterprises, and speed up the transformation and transfer of scientific and technological achievements, on August 2nd, 2019, an academic forum - “Technology empowering economy, common development of colleges and the local”- was held in Xinzheng City, Henan Province.

This academic forum was guided by the people’s government of Zhengzhou city, sponsored by the people’s government of Xinzheng city and Zhengzhou science and technology bureau, and co-sponsored by Chengdu Shinesun Technology Group. 15 college presidents and academicians attended this event, including the president of the University of Science and Technology of China and the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences - Bao Xinhe, the president of Sichuan University and the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering - Li Yanrong, the executive vice president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences - Ding Kuiling , the vice president of Hohai University and the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering - Wang Chao, the director of the State Laboratory of Biotherapy of Sichuan University and the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences - Wei Yuquan, the director of the committee of experts of the state “Large Aircraft” project and the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering - Zhang Yanzhong, etc. The vice president of the Political Consultative Conference of Henan Province - Zhang Zhenyu, the deputy mayor of Zhengzhou city -Shi Zhanyong, and the relative leaders of Zhengzhou city and other counties and prefecture-level cities, some representatives of Zhengzhou city and some representatives of the college presidents (deans) of Xinzheng city, the Communist Party secretary of Xinzheng city - Liu Jianwu, the mayor of Xinzheng city - Ma Zhifeng, and other members of the four major government leader groups of Xinzheng city attended this event.

In this academic forum, the mayor of Xinzheng city introduced the guests to everyone, and the event kicked off with a speech by the vice mayor of Zhengzhou city.

This academic forum was carried out in two phases, the 1st phase is the guests to address keynote speeches. The academicians and college presidents of Bao Xinhe (the president of the University of Science and Technology of China, the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences), Li Yanrong (the president of Sichuan University, the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering), Ding Kuiling (the executive vice president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences), and Wei Yuquan (the director of the State Laboratory of Biotherapy of Sichuan University, the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences), etc. provided speeches on the new environment, new ideas, new directions, and new strategies of scientific and technological development on the stage successively

The 2nd phase was guest interviews. Hosted by the CCTV hostess Lu Yajuan, the academicians and college presidents of Zhang Yanzhong (the original president of Chinese Aeronautical Establishment, the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering), Wang Chao (the vice president of Hohai University, the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering), Xu Jingjun (the executive vice president of Nankai University), Wang Lizhong (the vice president of Zhejiang University), Yang Xiaobo (the vice president of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China), Guan Shaokang (the vice president of Zhengzhou University), etc. made discussions and exchanges on the development of aviation industry, electronic information industry, new material industry, the innovation in water environment treatment, the challenges in innovations, and the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements, etc.

In this academic forum, Xinzheng city signed a cooperation agreement with Southwest Jiaotong University and Shenzhen YD Electronics Information Co., Ltd. to build a 5G network platform for rail transit, signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China to build an artificial intelligence and robotics research center, and signed a cooperation agreement with Chengdu Shinesun Technology Group to build an intellectual property trading center in central China. Besides, Xinzheng Suicheng Pharmaceutical signed a cooperation agreement with the director of the State Laboratory of Biotherapy of Sichuan University and the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wei Yuquan.
